My friend told me that they tried to send me something but they couldn’t send anything to me, meanwhile when I try and send pins, there isn’t even an option to send them within Pinterest.
At first I thought this was a privacy thing but I looked through all the settings and I couldn’t fix it. Not only have all my past messages disappeared, the whole messages tab is completely gone. It’s not like people just don’t interact (explaining the lack of notifications) because I comment on lots of posts, and I always used to get quite a lot of notifications about likes or replies, so it’s really strange that I haven’t had any in the last month.

This will not affect the 90 day period start date, so there is nothing to lose by doing this.
If another Apple ID is associated with the device, then temporarily sign that ID back onto the iPad, download Pinterest, then sign off again. That means that a second Apple ID cannot be associated with that device for 90 days after the initial Apple ID was associated, so cannot download past purchases. Was another Apple ID signed onto this iPad and used to download a previously purchased item prior to your daughter's Apple ID being signed on? If so, then you are probably getting that error because once a device is associated with a particular Apple ID (by virtue of having either purchased or downloaded already purchased software) for 90 days.
